Medallion Style: Plant + Geometry

This medallion embodies simplicity and elegance. At its heart lies a full-blown lotus, radiating serenity. Encircling it are abstract swirling forms, their curling ends imparting a sense of gentle, clockwise movement.

Unlike some of the more ornate medallions, this design draws strength from its restraint. The lotus remains the anchor, while the surrounding swirls echo the flow of water or wind—suggesting the subtle rhythms of nature.

The medallion demonstrates how the Bharhut artists could achieve profound effect through minimal yet intentional ornamentation, creating a composition that feels both calm and alive.
